Dear John
I wish you were here, John, and could see the sea with me. I wish we could have breakfast again together, as so many times before.
I wish we could drive out together and look around some small tourist attraction. Look round the gift shop, sit and have tea.
Yesterday, John, I was in a lovely cathedral gift shop and there was a leather bookmark of the place which we didn’t have.
I know if you’d been there you would have bought one. I don’t know which colour you would have chosen.
I didn’t buy the bookmark. Am I going to continue adding to our collections, without you?
No, I think all the collections can be considered ‘frozen’.
