How our world shrinks as we age
Getting smaller with every stage.
First the whole planet is our home
As far and wide we freely roam.
Then our health begins to wane;
We don’t feel up to trips by plane.

As our wobbly legs break down
We’re then restricted to our town.
Age plays havoc with our feet
And we can’t get beyond our street.
A few more years and we find that
We’re now confined to a small flat.
Then our bedroom, then our bed,
Our world reducing till we’re –
